So, caught up on Voltron Force, and I think I can safely say that I’mdone. No more, no thank you. I gave it a go, I did my best to go in to it with an open mind, but… no. At the end of the day, I don’t find the new characters particularly interesting or appealing, I’m not all that keen on the direction they’re taking the old characters (with the exception of Allura), and the less said about the actual animation the better.
So I bid Voltron Force farewell. I hope it does well with the actual target audience (I acknowledge that I’m about 20 years outside of that group), makes plenty of money for the owners of the property, and is generally very successful.
Also, calling it now…
You’re far more charitable than I was, and I feel no need to apologize for that. From the pilot alone I could tell just about everything in this bastardization was going to offend me on every level, at every turn, and never tuned in again. (Not having cable the last few months helped, but I could have watched it online.) I do not wish any such success on the rightsholders, because they need to take a good hard look at the void of creativity in which they operate. It’s not merely that we’re not the target audience; it’s that they seem to have such a low opinion of the actual target audience to boot. I want to meet the kid that thinks this is a quality show compared to everything else out there. That kid needs to be belatedly aborted, and so does this show.
